Hacktory is coming to Berlin! After a successful kick-off in Kraków, we’re taking our Internet of Things hackathon abroad, to one of the hottest tech hubs in Europe. Get ready, because on September 25th, in Rainmaking Loft, we’re gonna hack the office space!

What’s the plan?

We start at 6:00 PM, show all the hackable gadgets, do the team-building and kick-off hacking! You have a few hours to create something and put together a short demo, so consider it more a sprint than a marathon. It doesn’t have to be complex, it doesn’t have to work perfectly and run smoothly, but the rules are simple: no bullshit! We’d rather see a live demo that ends up with the hardware catching fire, than a super sleek slide deck showing something that doesn’t exist.

Food and drinks are provided by our fantastic friends from Twilio. Write your code and shape the future!

What am I gonna do?

Build amazing mobile apps connected with contextual computing, Internet of Things and smart office. Show us how to make the workspace better with cool tech! You’ll have a chance to play with Estimote Beacons, Google Glass, Philips Hue, Spark and more!

Who can attend?

Hacktory is open to everyone, but we only have a limited amount of space, so don’t hesitate and RSVP! Also, it’s about building mobile software, so remember you need some knowledge of code or design.

This event is for free, but you have to register. Register now and make sure we have a place for you!

What’s needed:

  • Your own PC/Mac to work on

  • Mobile device supporting Bluetooth Smart (also called BLE, BT 4.0) with iOS 7 or Android 4.3+

  • Cable to connect your smartphone to a PC/Mac

  • Estimote SDK and/or SDKs for other devices you want to work with - it might be a good idea to take a peek at their technical documentation as well

  • Xcode 5 or Android Studio/Eclipse
